Ich meine, er hat ja sogar recht damit, dass Kapitalismus ohne Konkurrenz kein Kapitalismus ist. Aber das mit der Ausbeutung ist halt nicht das Gegenteil davon.

Joah, ist so ein bisschen eine Frage der Definition von Kapitalismus. Da ich ihn hauptsächlich als Ausprägung von Oligarchie sehe, würde ich eine Wirtschaft, die über große Bereiche aus Monopolen besteht, vermutlich immer noch unter Kapitalismus zählen, solange die nicht alle dem Staat gehören.

Ohne Konkurrenz entfiele der Antrieb der Kapitalisten zur permanenten Investition in Produktivitätssteigerung und technische Innovation, was dazu führen würde, dass kein neues produktives Kapital mehr akkumuliert werden könnte und das Wachstum ausbliebe. Würde das Wachstum fehlen, dann könnten auch keine verzinsten Kredite mehr bedient werden, ohne dass von der bestehenden Substanz gezehrt werden müsste. Der Finanzssektor bräche zusammen, die Geldvermehrung "aus dem Nichts" würde auch nicht mehr funktionieren, und die Kapitalisten würden zu Fürsten, die nur noch dafür sorgen, die Herrschaft über ihre bestehenden Produktionsmittel und Arbeitskräfte zu sichern. Das wäre zwar immer noch Ausbeutung der arbeitenden Klasse, aber nach jeder gängigen Definition kein Kapitalismus mehr.

Wo kommt den das Geld für den Börsenhandel her?
Also man kann dann natürlich einfach Aktien tauschen, aber wenn die an "Wert" gewinnen und dabei Profit rausspringen soll, dann muss schon irgendwer immer mehr Geld in den Papiermarkt pumpen.
Mal abgesehen davon wäre ein Konkurrenzverhältnis an der Börse ja eben auch ein Konkurrenzverhältnis. Biden spricht aber von "capitalism without competition".

Ja, gut wenn das jetzt ernstnimmt und wirklich sagt, es gibt für alles nur genau ein Unternehmen, dann bekommt man ja schon Schwierigkeiten, weil sich da Bereiche überschneiden. Also der Kraftfahrzeughersteller beliefert vielleicht den Taxidienstleister aber er steht auch in Konkurrenz mit ihm um "Fahrgäste", denn die könnten sich stattdessen ja auch einen Privatwagen kaufen.

Das mit dem ernstnehmen ist halt das Problem bei einem Mann, der einerseits der politische Führer der größten und kapitalistischsten Volkswirtschaft aller Zeiten, und gleichzeitig ein vermutlich von Demenz geplagter alter Tattergreis ist, der sich von irgendwelchen neoliberalen Hipstern seine Twixxe schreiben lässt.
