Im Detail wird es komplizierter sein, ich habe zum Beispiel die Behauptung gelesen, dass die Chinesen weniger in bestimmte Projekte investiert haben sollen (nach zwei Jahren), als ursprünglich versprochen. Aber wenn man bedenkt, dass in der Zeit seitdem der riesige neue Containerhafen in Chancay, Peru geplant und umgesetzt wurde, vermute ich, dass das letztlich nicht das Problem war.
Wie auch immer eigentlich hat sich Panama also nur einer brachliegenden Kooperation entledigt und das wird sicherlich mit dem Druck, den die USA gerade ausüben zu tun haben, aber ist eben nur ein kleines Zugeständnis. Immerhin das Ausbremsen der Chinesen in Panama fällt in die erste Trump-Amtszeit.

Da würde ich allerdings stark zwischen staatlicher propganda und staatlichem Handeln unterscheiden.
Natürlich wird in den USA jede öffentliche Drohung oder tatsächliche Maßnahme gegen China vor der politisch doch eher unterdurchschnittlich über den Rest der Welt informierten amerikanischen Bevölkerung damit begründet dass "communism bad" ist. [...]
Also zum einen würde ich sagen, Kommunismus ist hier gar nicht mehr so das Argument in der Propaganda, sondern schon ziemlich explizit die Gefahr, dass die Chinesen die USA "ablösen" könnten. Typischerweise indem sie die USA bestehlen und ausnutzen.
Zum anderen Propaganda und Handeln sind ja komplett im Einklang.
Du hast Obama mit dem "pivot to Asia". Der hatte u.a. versucht einige Anrainer von China mit dem Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement an die USA zu binden und so Beschränkungen für wirtschaftliche Kooperation in Chinas Nachbarschaft zu schaffen. Das Rand Corporation-Paper "War with China" kommt noch am Ende von seiner Amtszeit heraus, was andeutet, dass vermehrt über militärische Auseinandersetzung nachgedacht wurde. Dann kam Trump erstmal mit einem Handelskrieg. Schließlich Biden. Der hat so richtig losgelegt, den offiziellen Konsens das Taiwan zu China gehört in Frage gestellt, aktive Vorbereitung für den Krieg mit China, dafür die Japaner auf Aufrüstung eingeschworen, den Filipinos wieder mehr Stützpunkte übergeholfen, der Versuch den Chinesen Halbleiter-Technik vorzuenthalten, idealerweise ihre ganze eigene Industrie in diesem Bereich platt zu machen usw.
Wir in der EU haben schlicht kein solches Projekt und leisten nur zu dem der US-Amerikaner einen Beitrag, hauptsächlich weil das erwartet wird. Ich denke auch, dass für Resteuropa oder vielleicht vorallem Westeuropa eine im Hintergrund noch immer als selbstverständlich angenommene westliche Suprematie erst mit dem Ukrainekrieg in Frage gestellt wurde. Deswegen haben wir seitdem auch so viele Manifestationen davon gesehen.
Am ehesten hat man jetzt ein Eigeninteresse an dem Konflikt, weil China die Russen unterstützt. Aber mein Eindruck ist tatsächlich, dass die USA so offen antagonistisch aufgetreten sind, dass der Nutzen für China, wenn die USA mit der Ukraine beschäftigt sind, auch sehr offensichtlich und damit die Unterstützung nachvollziehbar ist. Oder in einer simpleren Vorstellung, dass man einfach unterschiedlichen Teams angehört.

Irgendwie fühlen sich gerade alle diese Clips von Kulinski, Breaking points oder Majority Report, etc. an, wie Daily Show-Segmente bei denen man erstmal lachen muss, obwohl das eigentlich total furchtbar ist.
Am Ende dieses Beitrages hier macht Kulinski allerdings das entscheidende interessante Fass auf, indem er sich fragt, was passieren wird, wenn die Gerichte den First Buddy und seine Abbruch-Crew aus präpotenten Elon-Jüngern und Techno-Geeks irgendwann mal verbieten, ihr gutes Werk weiter zu tun, und eine US-Bundesbehörde nach der anderen zu besetzen und völlig hemmungslos auch ganz illegal zu hacken.
Kulinski fragt sich, ob Trump dann vielleicht einfach sagen würde, dass irgendwelche Gerichtsurteile keinen zu interessieren hätten, denn er sei schliesslich der Präsident, Commander in Chief und oberster Behördenleiter, und er habe Musk und seinen First Buddy-Buddies persönlich Carte Blanche dafür gegeben. Das wäre dann eine doch recht unerwartete Methode gewesen, um die amerikanische Verfassung und die parlamentarische Demokratie gegen eine faschistoide Korpokratie auszutauschen.
Ich bin noch nicht soweit zu glauben, dass Trump das wirklich machen wird - selbst wenn Musk womöglich darauf spekuliert. Ich glaube eher, dass die das alles - die Zölle, die Dekrete, die wüsten Drohungen und Ankündigungen gegen das Ausland, und die Schneise der Verwüstung die DOGE gerade durch Washingtoner Büros zieht - gerade deshalb jetzt mit Hochdruck und so schnell wie möglich voran bringen, weil sie genau wissen, dass selbst der erz-republikanisch dominierte Supreme Court ihnen das nicht mehr lange erlauben wird.
Aber sie werden sich auch denken, dass es Jahre oder sogar Jahrzehnte dauern wird, bis die entsprechenden Gerichtsverfahren ausgefochten sind, und das alles wieder repariert oder rückgängig gemacht werden kann. Und what's done is done.
Noch 8 Jahre, dann liefern wir Waffen an die US-Rebellentruppen der Metropolregionen.
