Ich nehme nicht an, dass Trump mehr jüdische Wähler gewinnt. Nicht dass das ein großer oder auch von der Verteilung her wichtiger Stimmblock wäre. Ich vermute bei den letzten Malen haben sich da viele Leute noch mit der Idee zufrieden gegeben, dass Trump ja so reden muss, weil er sonst noch mehr Schwierigkeiten bekommt. Aber war halt kein so zentrales Thema.

His message seems to be that Ukraine must make a sacrifice. This brings us back to the question of the cost and who shoulders it. The idea that the world should end this war at Ukraine’s expense is unacceptable. But I do not consider this concept of his a plan, in any formal sense. This would be an awful idea, if a person were actually going to carry it out, to make Ukraine shoulder the costs of stopping the war by giving up its territories. But there’s certainly no way this could ever happen. This kind of scenario would have no basis in international norms, in U.N. statute, in justice. And it wouldn’t necessarily end the war, either. It’s just sloganeering.

Mir scheint der Wirbelsturm wird vorallem bei Gebieten im Inland als besonders verheerend wahrgenommen, die so eine Intensität von Sturm noch nie abgekommen haben und dementsprechend überhaupt nicht darauf eingestellt sind. Und es gibt hier einen klaren Anteil von Wahlkampf, wenn der demokratischen Regierung vorgeworfen wird aus Inkompetenz nicht genug zu tun bis hin zu die Gebiete werden ignoriert, weil vorallem weiße Amerikaner betroffen sind, oder die Hilfe wird verschleppt, so dass die Wahlen in republikanischen Bundesstaaten gestört werden. Und das sind nicht die verrücktesten Verschwörungsvorstellungen.

Das gesagt, es geht hier um eher ärmere, auch abgehängte Gegenden, die keine so große wirtschaftliche Rolle spielen und der Anreiz oder schlicht die Notwendigkeit Ressourcen rein zu stecken, ist vielleicht geringer als wenn zum Beispiel Texas oder Florida betroffen sind. Bidens verringerte Aufmerksamkeitsspanne wird wahrscheinlich wirklich von den Kriegen in der Ukraine und ganz akut an der Levante voll eingenommen. Das US-Militär ist deshalb auch stark eingespannt und macht ständig Versorgungsflüge ganz vorrangig nach Israel, damit der Bombennachschub nicht abreißt. Und es werden mehr Truppen für den Nahen Osten mobilisiert und da bedient man sich durchaus auch bei der Nationalgarde, was zu der Kritik führt, dass die Leute jetzt zu Hause fehlen.

In jedem Fall Trump versucht es auszuschlachten.
