    So, what first initiated the uprisings was the death of a teenager, Nahel, who was killed in a traffic stop by the police. And what really outraged the people who are now in the streets was the fact that it was captured, and the fact that we could hear the sound, and the sound could really — really showed something very threatening to Nahel. And he was killed so quickly. And Nahel is also — it’s important to underline that he’s also from the North African origin, so he belongs to a category of the population that is overpoliced, overtargeted by police brutality and police abuses. So that’s why people were so angry.     JUAN GONZÁLEZ: And what’s been the response of President Emmanuel Macron to the uprisings and the disturbances around the country?

    ROKHAYA DIALLO: So, the response before the uprisings, his response was very quick and very uncommon, actually, because he said that the death of Nahel was inexcusable. He also said that it was inexplicable, which I don’t agree with, since we had figures for a long time, and we know that those things, unfortunately, happen.

    And what happened first also — I forgot to mention that — is that before the video was spread on social media, the police issued a report saying that Nahel was dangerous, and he was driving in car towards them. The video showed this wasn’t the case. So, it also means that we can think that other people have been facing the same kind of situation, and as it wasn’t captured, we don’t know what really happened. The police, at the end of the day, issue reports that fit to their version of the story, but it’s not always the truth.

    So, Macron said at first that it was inexcusable, but then he really had a hard stance against the uprising, and he blamed it on the parents, saying that he was considering sanctions towards the parents who had their children taking part to the uprisings.

    "Während die Proteste der Bäuer*innen in Frankreich, denen sich gestern in vielen Teilen des Landes die Taxifahrer*innen anschlossen, andauern, präsentierte der neue französische Premierminister Gabriel Attal in der französischen Nationalversammlung die offizielle politische Linie des "Macronismus" für das Jahr 2024. Kaum eine Rolle spielten dabei die Bäuer*innen, denen Attal nicht mehr versprach als die rechtzeitige Überweisung der EU-Subventionen und "Bürokratieabbau".


    Ansonsten stellte Attal ein Programm vor, das von erzreaktionären und ultraneoliberalen Plänen nur so trotzt. Besonders im gesellschaftspolitischen Bereich muss man sich fragen, wo tatsächlichh noch eine Trennlinie zwischen dem "Macronismus" und dem ultrarechten RN verlaufen könnte. So sinnierte Attal sinngemäß über die französische Identität, die bewahrt werden müsse. Was nun durch drakonische Zwangsmaßnahmen gegen (jugendliche) Regelbrecher*innen erreicht werden soll.


    So sollen minderjährige Straftäter zu einer"erzieherisch notwendigen" Arbeitsverplichtung verurteilt werden können. Zudem sollen auch Eltern von jugendlichen Gesetzesbrecher*innen strafrechtlich herangezogen werden können. Dieses "Sippenhaftprinzip" soll von den elendigen sozialen Verhältnissen als Grundlage der Revolten in den Vorstädten ablenken und vorgauckeln, dass die Kinder einfach schlecht erzogen seien.

    Doch auch der Rest der französischen Jugendlichen soll vom Wunsch der "Macroniten" nach ideologischer Formierung durch Drill, Unterwerfung und Gleichschaltung nicht verschont bleiben. So plant die Regierung weiterhin die Einführung paramiltärischer Pflichtdienste für Jugendliche und möchte Schuluniformen einführen.


    Darüber hinaus präsentierte Attal die üblichen neoliberalen Thesen, welche die Befreiung der Marktkräfte samt Sozialabbau und Lohnsenkungen als großen Fortschritt für die hart arbeitenden "kleinen Leute" preisen. So soll bis 2025 ein "Arbeitszwang" von 15 Stunden für Erwerbslose eingeführt werden. Zudem wird eine Regelung gestrichen, die es erwebslosen Menschen ermöglicht Zahlungen aus der Arbeitslosenversicherung zu erhalten auch wenn die Ansprüche abgelaufen sind. Dies Regelung kommt vor allen Dingen älteren Menschen zu gute, die auf diese Weise die Zeit bis zum Renteneintritt überbrücken. Laut Attal trägt diese Regelung aber nur zur "Faulheit" bei. Faktisch schafft die Abschaffung dieser Regelung aber nur mehr Altersarmut, den bisher wurden für die Empfänger*innen dieser Versicherungsleistung auch Rentenbeiträge abgeführt. Fallen diese Personen in die Grundsicherung, fällt auch dieses weg.


    Auch dem sozialen Wohungsbau will die Regierung einen einen Schlag versetzten . Mussten bisher 25-Prozent der Wohungen sozialer Natur sein, soll diese Regelung aufgeweicht werden. Angeblich um mangelnden Wohnraum für die "Mittelklasse" schaffen zu können. Faktisch werden die in den Metropolen ohnehin schon überteuerten Mieten so noch weiter steigen und es den Geringverdiener*innen, deren Zahl der "Macronismus" massiv steigern möchte, noch unmöglicher machen bezahlbaren Wohnraum zu finden.


    Das gestern präsentierte Regierungsprogramm zeigt erneut auf, dass der einst als linksliberal verklärte "Macronismus" inzwischen ein rechtsautoritäres Profil erlangt hat. Das Attal und seine Regierung es nicht einmal für nötig halten sich einer Vertrauensabstimmung zu stellen, wie es in einem bürgerlich-demokratischen System üblich sein sollte, versteht sich von selbst. Die Linke hat deshalb gemeinsam ein Mißtrauensvotum eingereicht, dass aber keine Chance auf Erfolg haben dürfte."
