"The widespread crackdown on students and arresting them at US universities because of their support for Palestinian people is in violation of the right to vote, freedom of expression and human rights and it stirs the concern of people around the world," Nasser Kan'ani said in a statement on Wednesday amid reports of US police crackdown on pro-Palestine protests at US universities.
The spokesman called on the US government to respect and ensure freedom of speech and human rights principles for the students and their professors at the rallies at the universities.
He further noted that Washington's support for the Zionist Israeli regime and its complicity in its genocide in Gaza cannot be hidden by suppressing the students and creating a repressive atmosphere at universities.
US authorities have arrested dozens of college students for attending pro-Palestine protests across the nation over the past few days.

August 1968.

ZitatBen Gvir lightly hurt, taken to hospital as car flips after collision; witness says he ran a red light
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s car flipped as he was involved in a car accident while leaving the scene of a terror stabbing in the central city of Ramle, police say. Witnesses said he ran a red light.
ZitatChannel 12 reporter Amit Segal quotes a witness as saying that Ben Gvir’s vehicle ran a red light and that there have been numerous reports in recent months that his official vehicle has committed a number of traffic violations.
In August last year, Ben Gvir was involved in another accident when his vehicle ran a red light while on the way to an interview. Hebrew media have reported that he routinely instructs his driver to flout traffic rules.
Das überrascht mich nun gar nicht.

ZitatAlles anzeigenUnderhanded Israeli Tactic Delays Flotilla Departure
For immediate release, Thursday April 25.
The Freedom Flotilla is ready to sail. All the required paperwork has been submitted to the port authority, and the cargo has been loaded and prepared for the trip to Gaza.
However, today we received word of an administrative roadblock initiated by Israel in an attempt to prevent our departure. Israel is pressuring the Republic of Guinea Bissau to withdraw its flag from our lead ship—Akdeniz (“Mediterranean”). This triggered a request for an additional inspection, this one by the flag state, that delays our April 26 planned departure.

Zitat'We're Persona Non Grata. Almost Satan': Global Boycott of Israeli Culture Ratchets Up
Israeli filmmakers, publishers, producers, artists, curators and musicians all have the same message: We and our creative work are unwanted internationally
ZitatIn the five months since then, the situation has only become more acute. At present, almost every important film festival is compelled to deal with pro-Palestinian demonstrations, and the participation of an Israeli film or Israeli artists signals in advance a potential scandal. A case in point is the director Yuval Abraham at the Berlin Film Festival in February, when controversial remarks he made (mentioning the occupation but not October 7) after the film he co-directed – "No Other Land" – won a prize, sparked a furor and received cross-continental coverage.
Is it surprising, then, that festival directors today prefer to keep away from Israeli films like the plague, or that members of the Israeli film industry find themselves excluded and rejected, similar to the treatment their Russian counterparts have been subject to for more than two years?
Die USS Eisenhower hat das Rote Meer verlassen:

ZitatCarrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Now in the Mediterranean Sea
After almost four months on station in the Red Sea, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) and USS Gravely (DDG-107) transited the Suez Canal on Friday, the Navy announced.
Ike, the flagship of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, and Gravely are now in the Eastern Mediterranean, according to a news release from U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa. It is unclear how long the two ships will remain in the Med.

ZitatAlles anzeigenPress Conference: Under Israeli Pressure, Guinea Bissau Moves to Withdraw Flotilla Flags
For immediate release, Saturday April 27
ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE:
On Thursday afternoon, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition was contacted by the Guinea Bissau International Ships Registry (GBISR), requesting an inspection of our lead ship – Akdenez. This was a highly unusual request as our ship had already passed all required inspections; nevertheless, we agreed. The inspector arrived on Thursday evening. On Friday afternoon, before the inspection was completed, the GBISR, in a blatantly political move, informed the Freedom Flotilla Coalition that it had withdrawn the Guinea Bissau flag from two of the Freedom Flotilla’s ships, one of which is our cargo ship, already loaded with over 5000 tons of life-saving aid for the Palestinians of Gaza.
ZitatIn its communication informing us of this cancelation, the GBISR made specific reference to our planned mission to Gaza. It also made several extraordinary requests for information, including confirmation of the ships’ destination, any potential additional port calls, and the discharge port for humanitarian aid and estimated arrival dates and times. It further demanded a formal letter explicitly approving the transportation of humanitarian aid and a complete manifest of the cargo.
Again, this is a highly unusual move from a flagging authority. Normally, national flagging authorities concern themselves only with safety and related standards on vessels bearing their flag, and are not concerned with the destination, route, cargo manifests or the nature of a specific voyage. Just like when you register your car, the authorities don’t require you to detail to them every place you are going to go with the car.
GBISR
ZitatHowever, without a flag, we cannot sail. But, this is not the end. Israel cannot and will not crush our resolve to break its illegal siege and reach the people of Gaza. The people of Gaza and all of Palestine remain steadfast under the most horrific, unimaginable conditions. We take strength from their incredible, inexplicable ability to maintain their humanity, dignity and hope when the world has given them no reason to do so.
It is our responsibility to keep that hope alive. WE WILL SAIL.
Wer bewacht jetzt dort die Prosperität? [...]

ZitatYemen’s Houthis damage oil tanker, shoot down US drone
MV Andromeda Star suffers damage and MQ-9 Reaper drone shot down in latest escalation by the Houthis.
Öltanker:
ZitatThe Iran-aligned group’s military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said in his latest televised video address early on Saturday that “British oil ship Andromeda Star” was targeted in the Red Sea with naval missiles and was directly hit.
The US military confirmed that the group fired three antiship ballistic missiles into the Red Sea at multiple targets and damaged MV Andromeda Star. The vessel was recently sold to a company registered in the Seychelles, Reuters reported.
“MV Andromeda Star reports minor damage, but is continuing its voyage,” the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a post on X, adding there were no injuries or damage reported by the maritime military coalition led by the US that is deployed in the area to counter attacks from Yemen.
Drohne:
ZitatThe Houthi military spokesman also said its air defence forces in Yemen also shot down an MQ-9 Reaper attack drone of the US military with a missile in the airspace of the Saada governorate “while it was carrying out hostile missions”.
The US military did not comment on the drone, but US broadcaster CBS News confirmed that an MQ-9, which costs about $30m, “crashed” inside Yemen early on Friday and said an investigation is under way.
