Shalva Papuashvili became the chairman of the 11th convocation parliament. Papuashvili was nominated for the post of parliament speaker by the faction Georgian Dream and was unanimously approved with 88 votes.
Papuashvili made a speech before the vote and promised that “the parliament will listen to everyone, but will act only in accordance with the interests of the Georgian people.”
Also soweit ich es verstehe waren nur Parlamentarier von Georgischer Traum da (das sind die 88), aber da die Partei über 50% der Stimmen erhalten hat, braucht man den Rest ja auch gar nicht.
Interessanterweise ist die Eröffnung des neuen Parlaments an die anstehende Präsidentschaftswahl geknüpft:

5. Presidential elections shall be held in October of the calendar year in which the term of office of the President of Georgia expires. [...] If the date of the election of the President of Georgia falls within the same month as the parliamentary elections, or the month preceding the month of the parliamentary elections, the presidential elections shall be held within 45 days from the first meeting of the newly elected Parliament.
Die Neuwahl soll noch dieses Jahr stattfinden. Und durch eine Verfassungsänderung seit der letzten Wahl, wird jetzt auch nicht mehr direkt gewählt, sondern durch eine Wahlversammlung wie bei uns:

The Electoral College shall consist of 300 members, and shall include all members of the Parliament of Georgia and of the supreme representative bodies of the Autonomous Republics of Abkhazia and Ajara. Other members of the Electoral College shall be nominated by the respective political parties from among the representative bodies of local self-governments on the basis of quotas defined by the Central Election Commission of Georgia in accordance with the organic law. The quotas are defined in compliance with the principle of proportional geographical representation and in accordance with the results of the elections of local self-governments held under the proportional system. The composition of the Electoral College shall be approved by the Central Election Commission of Georgia.
Nehme an das macht gegeben das Wahlergebnis eine Wiederwahl unserer Präsidentin eher unwahrscheinlich. Das heißt Surabischwili hat vermutlich ein ganz persönliches Motiv, wenn sie will, dass neugewählt wird und ein "besseres" Ergebnis dabei rauskommt.
