CPC member Ro Khanna, D-Calif., who voted for the resolution, said that attitudes toward U.S. involvement in foreign conflict were shifting on both sides of the aisle.

Was Khanna mit "leverage" gegenüber der Türkei zum Schutz der Kurden meint, ist mir allerdings schleierhaft. Wenn es da irgendeinen Hebel gibt, dann hätte man den eigentlich so langsam mal umlegen müssen, um Erdogan von weiteren vökrerrechtswidrigen Agriffen gegen die Syrischen Kurden abzuhalten.
In deutschen Qualitätsmedien ist es jedenfalls kein Thema. dass die USA unter dem Vorwand, dort als Schutz gegen den IS zu dienen, immer noch völkerrechtswidrig Truppen im Norden Syriens stationiert haben.
Interessant ist auch, dass der republikanische Gesetzentwurf mehr demokratische als republikanische Stimmen bekam.
