川建国

Offenbar wird Trump im chinesischen Internet 川建国 oder 建国同志 genannt.

Canada and Philippines are in Final Negotiations for Defense Pact to Boost Joint Military Exercises

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Canada and the Philippines are in the final stages of negotiating a key defense pact that would allow their forces to hold larger military drills, said the Canadian ambassador to Manila while raising concerns over China’s “provocative and unlawful actions” in the region.

    U.S. Relations With Taiwan

    [....]

The United States approach to Taiwan has remained consistent across decades and administrations. The United States has a longstanding one China policy, which is guided by the Taiwan Relations Act, the three U.S.-China Joint Communiques, and the Six Assurances. We oppose any unilateral changes to the status quo from either side; we do not support Taiwan independence; and we expect cross-Strait differences to be resolved by peaceful means. We continue to have an abiding interest in peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. Consistent with the Taiwan Relations Act, the United States makes available defense articles and services as necessary to enable Taiwan to maintain a sufficient self-defense capability -– and maintains our capacity to resist any resort to force or other forms of coercion that would jeopardize the security, or the social or economic system, of Taiwan

  • China baut jetzt anscheinend auch große Druckluftspeicher.

China’s innovative 1.2 GWh compressed air energy storage project

A state-backed consortium is constructing China’s first large-scale compressed air energy storage (CAES) project using a fully artificial underground cavern, marking a major step in the technology’s commercialization.

state-led consortium is developing a 300 MW/1200 MWh compressed air energy storage (CAES) project in Xinyang, Henan province, featuring an entirely artificial underground cavern—China’s first of its kind. ...is set for completion by the end of 2026.

The project is based on four salt caverns in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia with a potential to host a 500 MW storage system. Eneco will operate, co-develop, and finance the project through its German subsidiary LichtBlick, one of Germany’s largest green energy suppliers. Cavern construction is already underway, with handover of the first two expected in early 2027.

Phase one of the Ahaus project will use two of the site’s existing salt caverns to deploy Corre Energy’s multiday CAES solution to deliver 220 MW of compression capacity and 320 MW of generation capacity.

    Zitat

China and the United States are the world’s only superpowers, and China possesses a navy that can traverse the Pacific. It is going to send its navy to do whatever it wants to do in the region, whenever it wants to. It is entirely within the rules of international law, meaning there is nothing we can do about it.

    Immerhin:

    Zitat

Many Australians also seem to have missed a salient fact – our own navy conducts freedom of navigation operations in the waters of the South China Sea whenever we want to show that these waters are not Chinese and are international thoroughfares for trade and the navies of many nations, including ours. We also conduct live firing exercises at sea. No wonder the Chinese government reacted with bemusement at being criticised.

    Äh, vielleicht insgesamt zu ehrlich?

    Zitat

Rather than wringing our hands, what should we be doing? The simple answer is that we need to spend more money on defence.

Of course, it’s hardly surprising that I, a lobbyist advising Australian and international defence companies, am saying we should be spending more. But I say this as someone who served as a minister for defence and defence industry, and who knows the reality of the situation well.
